Bartavelle Turns Four!

Come help us celebrate our 4th time 'round the sun! We will close early on Sunday, October 23rd and start making the pintxos and uncorking the wine starting at 4PM. Our dear friends Paco Prieto and Christopher Fisher are breaking out the giant paella pan and assembling a delicious feast.

$40 includes pintxos, paella and WINE! Also, there must be some dessert, so plan on that, too.

*please note, because we are making one pan of paella, we may not be able to accommodate food allergies/preferences. There will be both meat and seafood in the paella, (no shrimp, though!) If you cannot eat meat or seafood, please come see us another time!

Late Summer Cake Pop-Up with Gold Bakery

Coming to Bartavelle: another magical cake pop-up from Gold Bakery, inspired by the peak-of-season pluots of late summer. This month's cake is a layered light buckwheat chiffon cake with sweet tart pluots, topped with honey whip cream. Also joining will be Steep Tea, who will be brewing its strong, spicy chai.

Let's go deeper into Sake!

There are still some misconceptions and stereotyped notions about Sake. Let's reveal the truth! We'll discuss the classifications of sake, how they're processed and their flavor profiles, and we'll taste one from each.

About Yoshihiro Sako: In 2008 Sako received his Kikisake (sake sommelier) license from the Sake Service Industry Institute & Kikisake Guild. Sako has worked as a kurabito (brewer) at Kubota brewery in Kanagawa pref. and Shiokawa brewery in Nigata prefecture in the past. Currently, Sako works as a sake director at Yuzuki Japanese eatery and continuously experiments with home-brewing to understand the intricacies of microorganisms.
